"Erin Go Braugh" means "Ireland Forever" whether you are tracing your roots back to the homeland or want to learn a "Wee Bit o' Irish" you have come to the right place. I am Irish, my Irish grandparents with the last name of Deasy, were "happy go lucky" kind of people, they would tell me funny jokes and tales. My Grandmother would sing to me Irish songs like "Tura Lura" It is an Irish lullaby, in her beautiful Irish tones, it still warms my heart. With its lush green landscapes Ireland is also called the emerald isle. There are castles, leprechauns and rainbows. Irish folk will cook you up some tasty Irish stew (not corned beef and cabbage) We sing some Gaelic songs of long ago and tell folk tales. Downpatrick is a place in Ireland that is our saints countryside. Patrick whose "Feast Day" is celebrated worldwide on the 17th. St. Patrick taught the trinity with the three leaf clover. He is also rumored for chasing the snakes out of Ireland, Believe it or not there are NO snakes in Ireland! A very good way to enjoy Ireland is to stay with families at their bed and breakfast accommodations, Ireland has plenty of B&B's to choose from, below I have listed some these friendly places to stay. Erin Go Braugh!

I have also added some interesting facts about Ireland, Enjoy

The Blarney Stone

In order to gain the gift of GAB you have to go kiss the blarney stone in Ireland.

The Blarney Stone (IrishCloch na Blarnan ) is a block of bluestone built into thebattlements located at the fBlarney CastleBlarney, (5 mi) from CorkIreland. According to legend, kissing the stone endows the kisser with the gift of gab  (great eloquence or skill atflattery). The stone was set into a tower of the castle in 1446. The castle is a popular tourist site in Ireland, attracting visitors from all over the world to kiss the stone and tour the castle and its gardens. The word blarney  has come to mean "clever, flattering, or coaxing talk".

Stone Circles in Ireland

Ireland has it own version of Stonehenge, there are many of these stone circles all over Ireland. researchers have said from the excavations that they are some kind or ritual site. If you stand at the entrance of many stone Circle, facing the axial stone, you will be looking directly at the place of either the rising or setting sun at one of the solstices or equinoxes, leading to another theory that they were some sort of astronomical observatories. This site has the most information on these stones.

Irish Landscape

Rugby is one the most popular sports in Ireland, it is like the NFL football that they play here in America. The Ireland Rugby Union Team represents the island of Ireland (both Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland) in rugby union. The team competes annually in the Six Nations Championship(which they have won eleven times outright and shared eight times) and every four years in the Rugby World Cup, where they have been eliminated at the quarter-final stage in all but two competitions (1999 and 2007). Ireland is also one of the four unions which make up the British and Irish Lions – players eligible to play for Ireland are also eligible for the Lions. Eight former Ireland players have earned induction into the International Rugby Hall of Fame, with four of them also having earned induction into the IRB Hall of Fame.

World Cup is like America's Superbowl
